Playing with Friends
It was a bright and sunny day. After school, Mia and her friends met up at the park.
"I can't wait to play with you all!" Mia said, smiling brightly.
Her friends laughed and called out, "Let’s go have fun!"
First, they set up a game of soccer.
"Who wants to be on my team?" asked Mia.
"I do! Pick me!" shouted Ben.
Lily said, "Let's split up and make fair teams."
They split up into two teams and kicked off the game.
Mia ran after the ball and passed it on to Lily.
"Good job!" Lily said as she kicked it into the goal.
"Yay! We scored!" everyone cheered.
Even though Ben’s team didn’t score yet, he said, "Don’t worry! Let’s keep trying!"
After playing for a while, they decided to take a break.
"Let’s sit down and drink some water," said Ben.
They sat down under a big tree and took out their juice boxes.
As they looked around, they saw a little puppy run by with a stick in its mouth.
"Aww, how cute!" said Lily. "Do you think it will come over if we call it?"
The puppy ran up to them and lay down on Mia's lap.
"Looks like it wants to hang out with us," Mia laughed.
Ben reached out to pet the puppy, and it rolled over happily.
"Let’s play fetch with him!" said Lily. She picked up a small stick and threw it out.
The puppy ran after it and brought it back quickly.
After resting, they got up and moved on to the swings.
"Let’s see who can swing the highest!" said Lily.
They hopped on the swings and pushed off with their feet.
"Look at me! I’m going so high!" Ben called out.
Mia said, "Be careful, Ben! Don’t fall off!"
"Don’t worry! I’m holding tight!" Ben answered.
Later, they played tag. Mia was "it" and had to run after her friends.
"I’ll catch up with you!" she said, running fast.
But Lily ran off and Ben hid behind a tree.
"Come out, Ben! I see you!" Mia laughed.
Ben laughed too and ran out, trying to get away.
Then, they climbed up the jungle gym.
"Be careful!" Mia said. "Don’t fall off!"
"I won’t!" said Ben. "Watch me go across the bars."
Ben swung across, but almost fell down.
"You’re so brave!" said Lily.
Mia added, "I want to try out the slide!" and she slid down fast, yelling "Wheee!"
After that, they decided to make up a new game.
"Let’s come up with a secret hand clap!" said Lily.
"Great idea! Let’s work on that together," Mia said.
They made up a funny hand clap and practiced until they got it right.
"High five! We did it!" Ben said.
When the sun started to go down, they packed up their things.
"Let’s put away the ball and our drinks," said Mia.
They picked up their backpacks and got ready to leave.
"I don’t want to go home yet," said Ben, looking sad.
"Me too," said Lily. "But we can come back tomorrow!"
"Yes! Let’s do that!" everyone said.
As they walked away, the puppy ran after them, wagging its tail.
"Looks like we made a new friend today," Mia smiled.
"I hope he’ll show up tomorrow too!" said Lily.
It was the best day ever, and they couldn’t wait to play again soon.
